Which Moccamaster? Documented differences between brewer models

How Moccamaster models actually differ — carafe, capacity, basket, and controls — plus what's verified about the KBGV Select, from Technivorm's own documentation.

Every fact below is from Technivorm's official US store and support knowledge base, verified 2026-09-24.

How Moccamaster models differ (per Technivorm support)

Moccamaster brewers vary by four things: carafe type (glass carafe with hotplate, or thermal carafe), brewing capacity, brew-basket style (automatic drip-stop or manual-adjust drip-stop), and available brewing controls. Technivorm sells brewers in four collections — glass-carafe, thermal-carafe, single-cup (Cup-One), and café/office brewers. All Moccamaster brewers carry a 5-year warranty and are handmade in the Netherlands.

The KBGV Select, documented

The KBGV Select is a glass-carafe brewer with an automatic drip-stop brew basket and a power switch that doubles as a volume selector for half- or full-carafe brewing. Technivorm documents a brewing temperature of 196–205 °F and a 4–6 minute saturation time; the brewer is SCA- and ECBC-certified and stands 14 inches tall. At check the US store lists it at $369.00 in Polished Silver, Matte Black, Juniper, Off-White, Stone Grey, Turquoise, and Midnight Blue.

Choosing between them (documented criteria, not guesses)

  • Want a hotplate and glass carafe? Glass-carafe models like the KBGV Select apply.
  • Prefer no hotplate? Thermal-carafe models are the documented alternative — a full model-by-model comparison is queued while we verify each one's basket style and controls.
  • Mostly brew one cup? The single-cup collection exists for exactly that.
  • High-volume café or office use? The café/office collection covers it.

We publish per-model pages only as their specifications are verified from official sources — model-by-model documentation is in progress.
