Magnifica Evo ownership: the descale alarm, LatteCrema cleaning, and brew-group care

What De'Longhi documents about living with a Magnifica Evo — the 30-minute descale cycle, dishwasher-safe parts, and the included maintenance kit.

Everything here comes from De'Longhi's own product page, the official descaling FAQ, and the box contents list, checked 2026-09-22.

The included maintenance kit

The box ships with a carbon active water filter, a total hardness test, a cleaning brush and a 100 mL descaler — De'Longhi intends you to run the filter-and-descale routine from day one, and the water hardness test programs the machine's hardness setting.

Descaling

  • Descale when the red descale light comes on — not on a calendar guess. De'Longhi's FAQ puts the full procedure at around 30 minutes.
  • The machine's programmable water hardness and filter (DLSC002, $19.95 from De'Longhi) stretch the interval; replacement descaler is Decalk Care (DLSC200 2×100 mL or DLSC500 5-dose).

Daily and weekly

  1. The drip tray, grounds container and water tank are removable and dishwasher-safe — De'Longhi explicitly markets this for the Evo.
  2. The LatteCrema Hot carafe system is designed to be rinsed between milk drinks; the manufacturer's automatic frother works with milk alternatives, and manual says frothing quality varies by milk brand and ingredients.
  3. Wipe the grinder hopper area with the included brush; the conical burr grinder is not user-serviceable — burr replacement is a service job, not a documented owner task.

What is not documented

De'Longhi does not publish an internal brew-group lubrication schedule for the Evo in public documentation. If a service need arises beyond cleaning, De'Longhi's support center routes it to authorized service — do not open pressurized or electrical components.
